Let me take you back to 2015.
I was living in Colorado with my husband and our 4 kids, who were ages 3-10 at the time. We lived in a rental home and I use the upstairs loft as my photography studio.
I had recently (after a slew of less than ideal clients and wanting to quit photography altogether) upped my pricing instead and was booking pretty solid a few months out.
I was also OVERWORKED, constantly stressed, exhausted and felt like I was missing a LOT of my children’s childhoods.
Then, somehow, I heard about Denise Duffield-Thomas and her book Get Rich, Lucky Bitch.

The title alone was enough to make me pause before hitting the BUY button. It sounded kinda silly, and not like something I would really get anything out of. But I ordered it anyway and started reading right away, and my life has never been the same.
Usually, I hate when people say that about a book because it’s like, “Really? What book honestly has something THAT important in it that can actually change your life?”
But this one really did, because it introduced me to something I had NEVER heard about in my 30+ years of living: MONEY BLOCKS.
Maybe you’re familiar with money blocks, or maybe you’re like me and had NEVER, EVER given though to your beliefs and thoughts around money.
This ONE term opened up a whole new world to me around mindset, beliefs, preconceived notions and how the way people around you talk about money affects your own thoughts around it.
DISCLAIMER: Before you run out and buy the book, let me say, I’m not a woo woo person, and this book is on the woo woo side. HOWEVER, even if you are not woo woo, I still recommend it because there are applicable exercises and thought changing teachings that should not be missed.
So, I read the book, did the exercises and from then on, was HOOKED on learning everything I could about money mindset, money blocks and breaking down money barriers. I read every book I could get my hands on and even took money mindset courses.
This was HANDS DOWN the best decision I ever made in my life and business.
The realization that what I thought about money DIRECTLY affected my income was mind blowing to me.
Soon enough I began to see these things in action as I raised my prices even more and people continued to book.
Just two months later, we moved to Idaho and I was told that NO ONE would pay my prices in Idaho. I decided I didn’t care what people said, worked on eliminating THEIR money blocks from MY mindset, and I charge more now and am booked more frequently than ever before.

5 years later I am still obsessed with learning about money mindset. It is constant work because as you eliminate old money blocks and move ahead in your business, new blocks will pop up that need to be addressed.
But I 100% believe that my constant quest for knowledge around this topic is what helped (and continues to help) me reach HUGE goals in my business…goals that if you told 2015 me I would reach, she would never believe you 😉
And because of that, I am extremely passionate about teaching other business women and entrepreneurs about money mindset as well.
I’ve compiled some of my favorite resources on this topic to get you going.
Be sure you pop your e-mail address HERE to grab my Common Money Blocks & Resources PDF and get started working on breaking down your own money barriers!
Once you go through the Money Blocks on that list, comment below with which ones resonated most with you.
Stay tuned, because I’ll be going into WAY more detail on how to identify and then crush each one here on the blog.
